Ancos has long been committed to the development of polymer enhancement processes and services. In recent years we have been committing resources focused on the enhancement of post-consumer and post-industrial plastics. With our engineering team’s focus, we have proven through multiple scaled and commercialized projects that we can increase the value of recycled polymers through increasing their ease of processability and their number of end use opportunities downstream. Our value-add enhancement services for recycled plastics include blending, drying, solid state polymerization, size reduction and devolatilization.

With size reduction and devolatilization, Ancos enhances recycled materials to allow for a wider variety of end applications and uses from 3-D printing to food packaging. Ancos has many methods for micronizing products that include jet milling, pin milling and cryogenic grinding. This versatility allows us to hit the optimal particle size for a variety of polymers. Ancos’ propriety process of devolatilization will target and eliminate harmful volatiles from post-consumer and post-industrial polymers. Elimination of volatiles that cause smell in recycled plastics is one of many benefits our devolatilization process can achieve.

Solid State Polymerization (SSP) will increase the material strength and impact resistance of recycled plastics. Solid Stating can also be used to adjust the melt viscosity of your material to hit the desired specification range for finished processing and molding.

Billed on their website as “the focal point for the increasingly complex and international plastics recycling industry. The event, now in its 15th year, brings together plastics reclaimers, equipment manufacturers, brand owners, brokers, government officials and leading sustainability voices from around the globe to deepen connections and push the sector forward”, Ancos is confident the Plastics Recycling Conference and Trade Show is the right place to showcase our innovative solutions for recycled polymers.

We invite you to visit us in Booth # 1002 to speak with our team of sales and engineering experts to learn more or you can submit your project here through our website.
The post Ancos to Exhibit at the 2020 Plastics Recycling Conference and Trade Show first appeared on Ancos.

At Ancos, we are dedicated to providing the highest level of service to our customers. A key component to that service is our ability to keep up with growing customer demands and expanding the breadth of our capabilities to provide the diversity in service they need. To be able to achieve this level of service, Ancos has made a series of strategic capital investments in new equipment to add to our already impressive capabilities that include North America’s largest blending vessel.

At our Darlington, SC facility where we provide solid state polymerization,
crytallization, blending, optical sorting and drying services, we have added a
new pump system that will allow us to process commodities that have excessive
moisture levels. We have also added a
new optical sorter that is operating for both enhanced quality control and
individual sorting project purposes.

Ancos is an industry leader in material size reduction with
both jet milling and cryogenic size reduction capabilities. To keep up with the growing demand at our
Disputanta, VA facility from our existing and new customers, we are excited to
announce that we have acquired new cryogenic size reduction lines that will
more than double our capacity.

In addition to the new size reduction line, we increased our
capabilities with dry powder handling with new machine modifications and dust
collection systems. Ancos is seeing
powder handling volumes increasing and has enhanced powder capabilities in material
handling, drying, blending and size reduction.

It is our goal at Ancos to be our customer’s full-service
provider for all their lab, R&D, pilot scale-up, material processing and
handling needs. With these new equipment
and capacity investments we are demonstrating our commitment to achieving that
goal.
The post Investments in New Equipment Creates New Capabilities and Capacity at Ancos first appeared on Ancos.
