Ancos has long been committed to the development of polymer enhancement processes and services. In recent years we have been committing resources focused on the enhancement of post-consumer and post-industrial plastics. With our engineering team’s focus, we have proven through multiple scaled and commercialized projects that we can increase the value of recycled polymers through increasing their ease of processability and their number of end use opportunities downstream. Our value-add enhancement services for recycled plastics include blending, drying, solid state polymerization, size reduction and devolatilization.
With size reduction and devolatilization, Ancos enhances recycled materials to allow for a wider variety of end applications and uses from 3-D printing to food packaging. Ancos has many methods for micronizing products that include jet milling, pin milling and cryogenic grinding. This versatility allows us to hit the optimal particle size for a variety of polymers. Ancos’ propriety process of devolatilization will target and eliminate harmful volatiles from post-consumer and post-industrial polymers. Elimination of volatiles that cause smell in recycled plastics is one of many benefits our devolatilization process can achieve.
Solid State Polymerization (SSP) will increase the material strength and impact resistance of recycled plastics. Solid Stating can also be used to adjust the melt viscosity of your material to hit the desired specification range for finished processing and molding.
Billed on their website as “the focal point for the increasingly complex and international plastics recycling industry. The event, now in its 15th year, brings together plastics reclaimers, equipment manufacturers, brand owners, brokers, government officials and leading sustainability voices from around the globe to deepen connections and push the sector forward”, Ancos is confident the Plastics Recycling Conference and Trade Show is the right place to showcase our innovative solutions for recycled polymers.
